The two agreements – one for nsw trains employees and the other for Sydney Trains workers – will now be submitted to the Fair Work Commission for approval. Another public transport crisis was averted after workers in Sydney and NSW Trains voted to adopt their recent company deal. The result came on Saturday night after the return of a postal vote, in which 52.8 per cent of Sydney Trains employees voted in favour of accepting the deal and 50.8 per cent of NSW Trains employees were also in favour. The State Secretary of the Railway, Tram and Bus Union Alex Claassens was pleased with the agreement reached for railway workers, but still says he is disappointed with the way the Land government is dealing with this issue. The workers had to fight tooth and nail to get to this point. Despite the result, the Railway, Tram and Bus Union was not impressed by the offer and criticised Transport Minister Andrew Constance for the “stress” caused by the negotiations. . . .
